The last few months I’ve been making my own laundry detergent and I love it! It goes so much farther and is much cheaper. Of course, I’m an avid Pinterest pinner, so I found the “recipe” here. My sister makes the liquid homemade soup, but I like this one because it can be made up and used immediately. Also, I like that I can add, if I want to, Oxi-Clean, and Purex Crystal Fabric Softener. I did put in the fabric softener hoping to eliminate some of the static that I fight with all the time. It seems to have helped some, but I’m looking for other ways to eliminate the static. I do have my trusty bottle of Static Guard; I hate all the chemicals in it, but it works! Does anyone have a better solution?
This is pretty simply to make, you just need to be sure to have a large enough container to mix and store it in. Leah made this recipe for me; I think she even grated the soap. We only made half the recipe because we didn’t have a large enough container, but I know I have enough “ingredients” to make it when we need to again. Also, you won’t use much at all when doing your laundry – 1-2 tablespoons. It doesn’t seem like much, but it really does work. I took a plastic cup and marked a line so we know how much to scoop out and add.
(Does anyone remember the Walton’s and the sister’s “recipe”? For some reason that came to mind when I wrote “recipe.” I know this is nothing like that “recipe.”)
